Lisa has been in the hair industry for 40 years and with the Salon by Debbie family for 24 of them. She helped Debbie to open the Spa in The Valley hair department in 2005 and has been a much sought after designer since. Her favorite part of the job is helping clients go on the journey to growing out their grey. Lisa has completed countless trainings and certifications throughout the years, some of them being Logics Master Colorist, KMS IQ cutting, bridal styling and curly hair cutting in locations such as New York and Paris. She has had her work published in Baltimore Magazine’s bridal features and has been nominated multiple times for Baltimore’s Best. Lisa’s beauty philosophy is “keep it simple and natural, but change it up from season to season”. She believes consultation, clear communication and customer service is key to providing you with your best experience.

Blyss Westcott @hairdesignbyblyss

Platinum Hair Designer, Department Manager

Blyss, Creator of Fabulous Hair! joined our team in 2023. After spending the majority of her career working in amazing places like Italy, Honolulu, Nashville and Texas, Blyss is ready to make Spa in The Valley her forever home. She specializes in all aspects of color, including corrective, balayage and highlights. She is a specialist in curly and textured hair and loves perms and Keratin treatments. Men's clipper and fade cuts are also a favorite. The key to a successful client experience for Blyss is in educating her guest on how to not only achieve their desired styled while maintaining the hair's integrity and strength but also how to properly maintain the look. Every guest is her ideal client  and she always gives her best to give an amazing, fabulous experience! Blyss wants you to know she values your time and she wants you to love the service you receive with her. If Blyss were a pasta shape, she'd be a shell because everything is better at the beach!

Kim is a leading Hair Color expert. He is certified by the American Board of Master Hair Colorists. He specializes in corrective color, dimensional color and creative cutting. He has trained with world renowned artists and graduated from some of the top color brands' studios such as, Wella, Goldwell, Redken and L'Oreal. He has presented his art on stage and his photography has been published in several industry magazines. Kim believes in listening to his client’s desires and expectations. He ensures they understand their hair type and creates a look that they can recreate on their own.

Lindsay has been with Spa in The Valley since 2008. She loves to make every client feel their best. Lindsay specializes in blonding and loves to create natural, lived in hair. She participates in continuing education with Wella and Goldwell and is also Cinderella Hair Extension certified.

With 20 years in the industry, Maria has been with the Salon by Debbie family since 2003. In addition to her education with Goldwell and Wella, she stays committed to staying up on the latest hair trends with lots of influencer training so she can provide specialty services such as blonding, strandlights, foiliyage and curly hair cutting. Her work has been featured in Vogue Arabia Magazine and she was voted Best Stylist 2019 by Baltimore Style Magazine. Maria sees the beauty in everyone and believes in listening to her clients wants and exceeding their expectations.

 

Brittany Hinkle @brittanyhinkle.hair

Silver Designer

Brittany has been practicing the craft of hair styling for the past 15 years and has been part of the Spa in the Valley team for the last three.  She is a graduate of The Robert Paul Academy. Her areas of specialty include men’s, women’s & kid’s cuts and color and highlights. Brittany believes that when you look good, you feel good! She builds her relationships with her clients on the foundation of good listening and delivering the results they are looking for.

 

Nicole Kerr @squirrelnikkihair

Platinum Designer

Nicole apprenticed at Aveda concept salon, Edward Amato in Mt. Washington Baltimore and was a member of their team for 10+ years. She became a member of the Spa in The Valley in 2008. Her favorite services include multidimensional highlighting, grey coverage, soft & natural balayage and trendy vibrant hues. In addition to earning her Level 40 Pokemon Go badge in the winter of 2018, she has received multiple advanced certifications from the Aveda institutes in Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis. When asked what her beauty philosophy is, Nicole replied “figure out what a client already loves about themselves and then have fun enhancing it! Every client should feel like the best version of themselves when they leave”.

 In the business for 25+ years, Anne has earned advanced certifications with Wella, Goldwell & Keratin Complex. Anne is available for cuts, color, highlights, balayage, keratin treatments and formal styling. Her work has been featured in Baltimore Bride magazine.  Anne believes in working as a team with her clients to create a look that is natural and easy for them to maintain. What’s most important is to listen to her clients’ wants and needs, while educating them on what’s best for their hair type and style they are looking for. Anne’s favorite part of a workday is helping people to feel good.

Laura started her career in hair styling with Spa in The Valley seven years ago. Blonding services, fashion colors, bridal styling and cutting are just some of her favorite services to offer. Continuing her education is paramount to Laura's success as well as utilizing her professional skills to maintain the integrity of her client’s hair. Laura is committed to exceeding her clients’ expectations all while making sure they are comfortable, relaxed and enjoying the spa atmosphere.

Bridget has had an amazing 35-year career in the hair industry and as an editorial artist. Ever changing and growing along the way, she is dedicated to her continued education. She has advanced certifications from Aveda, Goldwell, Wella and Bumble & bumble. Bridget specializes in color, highlights, haircuts, and makeup.  Her beauty philosophy is classic with a twist- a little change all the time keeps it fresh.

With over 40 years in the industry, Karen has been with Spa in The Valley for over ten of them! Her areas include but are not limited to precision cutting, highlights, dimensional color, gray coverage/blending and corrective color. Karen wants her clients to know anyone can be beautiful! Let your look reflect your personality. Listening is the secret to a successful client outcome. Karen believes a woman’s color is so important. even small tonal differences can make or break your look. The perfect hue brightens the face and can take years away.

Having owned her own salon for over 25 years, Spa in The Valley was happy to welcome Brenda to the team 14 years ago. As a platinum designer, she specializes in cutting, foiling, formal styling and undercut designs. Brenda was trained in Baltimore and New York City and is proud to have travelled the U.S. as a Clairol Color Consultant. Her work has been featured in Baltimore Magazine and has won awards for color, cut and makeup throughout the region. Brenda comes to work every day with one job in mind… make every client in her chair look and feel beautiful. Seeing the smile on her clients face with how happy they are with their results makes her job that much more rewarding.

 

Johanna Samsel

Platinum Designer

Johanna has been part of the Spa in The Valley family for 16 years and working as a stylist for 28 years total. Her specialties include, color, highlights, balayage, ombre, cutting and keratin treatments. Educated at The Maryland Beauty Academy and then apprenticed at Edward Amato salon, she’s also received advanced training with Wella, Goldwell, Aveda, Framesi, Alterna and L’oreal. Johanna was a color educator for Framesi and Alterna for over 10 years and also had the pleasure to apprentice two amazing Salon by Debbie stylists. Her favorite part of a workday is when she sees her work come together and hearing a client say they love their hair. Johanna believes everyone should feel beautiful and pampered and can’t wait to have you in her chair!

Christina joined the Spa in The Valley family in 2023! Trained at The Robert Paul Academy and in the industry for over 20 years, she is the stylist you go to when you want a change but don't know exactly what you need. Christina connects with clients who want to create a more vivid look by using creative cutting and coloring techniques. If she were a pasta shape, she'd be tri-colored pasta because she's GREAT WITH COLOR! There's no pressure when you book an appointment to sit in Christina's chair, listening to her clients and interpreting their style is key to her crafting your quality experience. Making the world and the people in it more colorful is what this artist was born to do!

A graduate of The Temple Paul Mitchell School, Kellie joined the Valley team in 2023. If she could write her own job title she would be a "day maker"! Her favorite service to perform is color and highlights because it allows a guest to change their image in a positive way. Kellie specializes in dimensional color and is most complimented on her super welcoming personality and her creative color suggestions. She strives to make each visit not just a service received but an experience. When Kellie is not at work she enjoys time with her family her pup!

Barbara started with a Salon by Debbie Spas in 2003. She manages both skin and massage departments at Spa in The Valley while also working as a full time Esthetician. She was nominated in both 2019 and 2020 for Best Waxing by Baltimore Style Magazine. Barbara has studied under Anastasia of Anastasia Beverly Hills in the art of eyebrow shaping. She is also certified on all levels of Hydrafacial.  Her advanced knowledge of skincare comes from years of experience in the medical arena combined with advanced continuing education from our partners at Dermalogica and Eminence. She is committed to exceeding her clients’ expectations in all aspects of their visit. Her mission is to focus on delivering a results-oriented beauty experience for all her clients.  

 

Katie Devlin

Esthetician

Katie has been a practicing esthetician for 37 years. A graduate of Von Lee Esthetics, Katie trained under our very own Debbie Nazelrod. She has been with Spa in The Valley for 4 years. Katie specializes in facials, waxing, lash, and brow tints. She is also a certified Hydrafacialist. 

Katie ' s beauty philosophy revolves around providing consistently exceptional experiences and always listening to her client’s needs. The favorite part of the job for Katie is not only making connections but feeling gratified when she sees her clients using the knowledge, she's given them to have the best and healthiest skin. Good things come to those who remove their makeup before bed!

Massage Therapist & Esthetician

Lauren has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years and joined the Spa in The Valley team 6 years ago. She holds certifications in cupping, pregnancy massage and is a Dermalogica Skincare Expert. Lauren believes in nurturing each of her clients because they can’t look good on the outside until they feel good on the inside. The favorite part of her job is when she sees her client come out of their treatment raving about how good they feel!

Esthetician & Makeup Director

Having been with Spa in The Valley since 2008, Jess has grown and advanced her career in many directions. As a graduate of Von Lee, she performs  European facials, Hydrafacials, peels, waxing, makeup, makeup lessons, brow lamination & tints as well as lash lifts. She specializes in Brazilian waxing and eyebrow shaping. She holds a multitude of advanced certifications from top skincare brands such as Hydrafacial, Eminence, and Dermalogica. Jess has had her work highlighted in Baltimore Bride Magazine and was voted Best Makeup Artist 2019 by Baltimore Style Magazine. Jessica has said she's never made a better decision than deciding to become an esthetician. She finds rewards in her work every day and loves to make her clients feel beautiful and renewed.

Caitlyn, a Von Lee graduate, joined the Spa in The Valley esthetics team in 2021. Self described as a Replenishing Healer known for her gentle, energetic touch, Caitlyn's clients can look forward to an experience that transforms their inner presence as much as the outer when they visit her treatment room. Her most favorite part of being an esthetician is helping others relax, diving deep into conversation with her guests and getting creative with product mixology and treatments. Fun fact about Caitlyn, if she were a pasta shape, she would be a rotini because she's spiraling with creative energy!

Nichole, a Von Lee graduate, became an esthetician to make people FEEL and look good. She loves meeting new clients and making connections by paying close attention to the details of what they are looking to accomplish. Making wellness and beauty unique for each client is what makes an experience with Nichole memorable.  She's most complimented on her waxing skills and her make you melt facial massage. Her ideal client is someone who is open to exploring new services with the guide of her professional advice. If Nichole won the lottery tomorrow, she'd start a non profit for animals and continue working here of course!

Lindsay joined our Spa in The Valley family in 2020 after graduating from Aveda Institute. Lindsay is most complimented on her facial massage which gets her clients to an instant state of relaxation.  Her key to delivering a memorable experience starts with giving each guest her full focus and attention. Having a connection energetically with each guest is something special that Lindsay looks to foster. She wants you to be as comfortable as possible and make you laugh. "Once the laughs come, people can open up and it just flows from there." Some fun facts about Lindsay... if she won the lottery tomorrow, she'd start her own skin care brand and if she were a superhero, her superpower would be BUILDING CONFIDENCE!

Tiffany received her Master Esthetics certificate from Skinworks School of Esthetics in Salt Lake City, Utah. After moving to make a new home in Maryland, she joined the Spa in The Valley team. Tiffany's favorite services to perform are lash services, full body waxes and peels. She is most often complimented on being thorough and detail oriented. Her soft touch and passion for skin care makes every guest at ease in her room. Tiffany believes it's important to educate her guests during their appointment so they can maintain their results until their next visit. When asked what she would be if she were a pasta shape, she replied "a ravioli because I'm filled with goodness!"

Julia is a skin and lash specialist who joined the Valley team in 2023. She is most complimented on her passion for knowledge about the skincare industry and well as her massage techniques. Julia prides herself on the customer experience-she wants to get to know her guests and make each experience customizable. When she's not working, Julia loves reading, watching sports, all things music and being with friends and family.

Cindy has been in the industry over 35 years and has been with the Spa in The Valley family for over 12 years. She received her education from Von Lee and Aveda Institute. Cindy performs facials, waxing, massage, reflexology, and reiki. She is also a certified Hydrafacialist. Named Baltimore's Best Waxer in 2007, she was also nominated in 2012 for Baltimore's Best Massage and received the Hospice Patient Care award for her massage work that year as well. Cindy believes in focusing on helping her clients feel good on the inside so the outside will shine!

Lee joined the Spa in The Valley team 9 years ago when he added Massage Therapist to his resume. His specialties include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy and Hot Stone massage. Lee strives to exceed every client’s expectation by guiding each session with the intention of healing touch.

Albertina is a Licensed Massage Therapist who joined the Spa in The Valley team in 2021. An avid health and wellness promoter, Albertina is most complimented on her ability to listen to the body's needs and giving help to the areas that need her gifted hands the most. She will welcome you with a friendly smile into her treatment room and does her best to connect to her guests by fully assessing their medical history and stress & pain levels to best determine which massage technique(s) will be most helpful.

Lucy joined the Spa in The Valley family in 2021. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and received her training at  Cortiva Institute. Lucy brings a spiritual aspect to every one of her massages. She believes in connecting to the greater good and giving the best experience possible.  Lucy practices massage in order to help others gain and maintain their wellness. Her motto is "leave this world a little better than you found it."

 

Amanda Merson

Massage Therapist

Amanda became part of the Spa in The Valley team in 2017. She graduated from Baltimore School of Massage to help people relax and feel their best. In addition to her massage certification, Amanda also holds certificates in Cupping and Prenatal Massage. Amanda's ideal client is someone who doesn't usually take time for themselves. She enjoys connecting by encouraging and offering an opportunity for self-care. Amanda also loves a first time massage guest. She makes everyone at ease and explains all that occurs during a massage session.

Amanda Plotcyk

Massage Therapist

Amanda was trained by the Holistic Massage Training Institute and joined Spa in The Valley at the close of 2023. She is also Reiki Level III certified. Amanda is most complimented on her work by often hearing how amazing her guests feel after their session and that in addition to providing great relaxation she was also able to alleviate & decrease pain levels. Her specialty is a medium pressure, full body relaxation massage that incorporates a thorough flowing technique with muscle tension relief. Massage therapy is one of Amanda's greatest passions and her goal in every session is to help people feel better by giving her best for a complete mind & body experience.
